Richard is a qualified accountant who has returned to his family farm at Bamawm. He has chaired a variety of environmental committees including the Campaspe Deep Lead Groundwater Consultative Committee and the Rochester-Campaspe Water Services Committee for Goulburn Murray Water.
Professor Peter Attiwill
(Director since 18 May 2004)
Peter Attiwill is Principal Fellow and Associate Professor in Botany, and Senior Fellow in The Australian Centre, The University of Melbourne. He developed a strong research base in plant ecology and is the author or co-author of some 120 papers in the scientific journals.
Peter supervised the programs of many PhD, MSc and Honours students and taught at all levels of the undergraduate course. Most of his research career has concentrated on sustainability of growth, productivity and nutrient cycles in forests. Peter's work is recognised worldwide.
Mike Hill
(Director since 3 April 2003)
Mike has an extensive local governance background including serving as Mayor of Brunswick and Moreland and as CEO of the Victorian Local Governance Association. He has also long been a central figure in the Victorian environmental sustainability movement.
Mike is Chair of the Moreland Energy Foundation; he chairs the Sustainability Education Roundtable, and is a Board Member of Sustainability Victoria. He has been the Chair of the Victorian Local Sustainability Committee (a Ministerial Committee establishing new dynamic relationships between the State Government and the 79 Victorian local governments). Mike is a past Chair of EcoRecycle Victoria and is currently a co-director of WestWyck (a company developing a co-housing project along environmental principles on a former school site in West Brunswick). Mike is also an active anti-gambling campaigner.
Ken King
(Director since 18 May 2004)
Ken King is Executive Director Regional Services for the State Department of Sustainability and Environment. He is also a CFA Board Director and Habitat Trust Board Member, and has served as a member of Phillip Island Nature Park Board of Management. He has a keen interest in the balanced use and conservation of natural resources for the whole community, and a strong desire to ensure better understanding of rural issues by urban communities through improved information and education.
Don Oberin
(Life Member, Director since 30 April 1980)
Don Oberin is a Life Member and Past President of the NRCL, and a Life Member and Past President of the Murray-Darling Basin Association. He is also a Past Chairman of the Campaspe Shire Economic Development Board. He is currently involved in dairying irrigation farmland and re-establishing native tree plantations.
